Vivienne's Block Reserve Riesling
Wine
Delatite Vivienne's Block Reserve Riesling draws from the estate's original Riesling vines, occupying just 0.6 hectares of land on the steep hills of north-east Victoria.
The wine is named after estate co-founder Vivienne Ritchie. Before the vines were officially planted in 1968, she nurtured them as cuttings in her vegetable garden.
The fruit is handpicked and whole bunch pressed. Only wild yeasts are used for fermentation and winemaking intervention is kept to a minimum.
There is no filtration or fining, ensuring the variety's delicate flavours are preserved. It is a small batch wine, made only in select vintages.
Light straw, Delatite Vivienne's Block Reserve Riesling has tight citrus flavours, chalky minerality and a long, clean acidity. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
